What if I didn’t?

2020    DoP    Finished

What if I didn’t? is a short film for the InFullColor film festival organised by SAE Institute Amsterdam. My role during this production was the DoP role. The short film ended up winning the Festival for best picture.

Little Lost Lamb

2021      Art director, Cameraman and Steadicam operator       Finished

I was tasked with managing the set location and creating and designing the set design and selecting the required props to make the set look as realistic as possible. I was a valuable asset to the camera department, taking over the position of the cameraman for more complex shots, as I was the only person on set with the required skill set of camera operation and knowledge of RED cameras. I also took on the role of a Steadicam operator.

Clickbaited

2021     1st AD    Partially finished

During the production of Clickbaited, I was tasked as being the 1st AD. I oversaw the entire process of pre-production and production, being responsible for time management, scheduling and onset personnel organisation.

Beep!

2021        1st AC and Focus puller       In post production

On Beep! I was tasked with the responsibility of focus pulling. Aside from that I also helped the camera crew with slider and jib setup, lens swapping and lighting.

Trial

2021    Cameraman and Steadicam operator and Camera department PA       In post production

On the set of Trial, I was a personal assistant for the camera department, responsible for camera rigging, deriving and Steadicam stabilisation and setup. Because of my knowledge of Steadicam setup and operation, I was also the designated Steadicam operator. I was also the set PA, helping multiple departments as much as I could to help the production run smoothly, resulting in me taking over as the cameraman and 1st AD at required times as well as constantly helping the camera department with light setups and camera operation.

The Sorrow of Anna Groen: Child Tennis Star

2022        DoP       Finished

This project proved especially tricky and difficult as the majority of shots were outside without controllable lighting and the inside shots were in a small apartment with limited equipment and time. I had the role as the DoP and have worked closely with the director on projects before. It really tested my creativity and limits, as the shooting days were long and it was the hottest week of the summer, with temperatures reaching 37C. I was responsible for managing the camera and gaffer crews, while simultaneously coordinating everything with the 1st AD and trying to bring the director’s vision to life.

The Dead Drop

2022      Director and DoP   Partially finished

On this project I was the Director and Director of Photography. A project filled with time restraints, delays and challenges. Due to unforeseen circumstances, this project was shot in its entirety in one day, with some parts still in production. This was my first time directing, and the genre wasn’t easy. The production worked with professional stuntmen and directed complex fight sequences. As of now, parts of the project are still in production and parts of it in post production.
